First bite!

Well the wind calmed down for a while today and I brought jasper outside to hang out in the sun. I had him outside for just around an hour and then the wind started back up so I went to get him from the tree and he hissed and lunged towards me, like he always does. Usually he only does it once and I can sneak my hand under him. Well this time he lunged a second time and bit my finger. It didnt hurt but it scared me enough for me to let out this crazy squeek. It wouldnt have mattered so much but my new neighbors were outside and heard me squeek and laughed at me... Its always nice to make a first impression like that =]

I guess Jasper did not want to go back inside. One of my daughters panthers bit me once. It didn't hurt that bad but it sure does scare you.

I was hand feeding my panther a silkworm last week and he took the worm along with a little bit of my index finger, and it certainly does scare you.

I proudly showed off my bite marks at work. As usual they all think I'm nuts! LOL don't you just love co-workers? They said I need to start a cover charge for when people come to visit. It's like a little zoo in here! Yeah, my evil plan is working....the ones afraid of snakes stay away! Gotta love reptiles.

Funny, my female veiled always goes hostile when anything gets within 4-5 inches of her. I've handled her many times and she usually puffs up, threatens me, and tries for a bite. To this day she has never been successful though. I think she is just all bark no bite.

She has bitten my camera when I was goin in for a close up. She hates the camera. It's like her arch nemesis.

i think its cute when you see the little teeth marks in your skin afterwards. my male veiled use to be able to break my skin a bit but my female has a smaller mouth so it doesnt hurt at all, its just very surprising! :p im more worried about them hurting their mouths than my fingers really!

Lucky. Pan tried for a real bite when he was little. Took hold and shook his head around until my skin broke and he lost his grip! The little booger was only three months old. If he did that now (he's almost 15 inches total length now) he'd probably take off a finger! Or at least he'd rip the skin off/almost off.
