Looking to get my first cham.......I've kept beardies for 20 years and a uromastyx for the last 7 years....trying to do my due diligence before getting one. I'm mentally building my enclosure......it will be at my work office, just to my right, on a 2'X4' stand that used to hold my beardie/uro tank. Where I live (West Texas) the humidity is very low, especially in winter, and my concern is in keeping up a good humidity level. Between that and having the enclosure right next to me, it seems like a glass/plexiglass enclosure might be best......I looked at the Reptibreeze 48" open air, but I just don't know that it would keep humidity. I plan on using an auto mister and also live plants. Anyone living in a drier climate that could chime in on this issue? I also thought about the Reptibreeze and adding plexiglass back/sides inside the mesh.....have also considered just building one from scratch.
Cham will probably be one of the following.....Panther/Veiled/Jackson
Another issue is drainage......but that is going to depend somewhat on the enclosure style......I might have more questions about that later. Thinking about slightly slanted bottom, into a sink drain, then out the bottom and into a bucket below.
Thanks for any advice!
