The forum is not a fan of waterfalls. They look cool and all but need to be kept CLEAN. they will breed bacteria just like any other water source that sits. Does you chameleon drink out of it? If so, even more so to get rid of it. You really need more branches and vines for your cham to climb on. I see only that one small vine. It looks pretty but is not very functional! Not to sound mean or anything. Just trying to give you some constructive criticism.

Remember that chameleons are arboreal, so they thrive up high and in vegetation. Your cage is a good start, but you need more cover towards the top. This is one of my cages. Obviously it's waaay bigger than yours, so don't compare the size, but consider the look and feel. The lights sit on the top of the cage and I have vines right under the lights, so he can sit directly under or off to the side. Then lots of plant cover so that he can feel safe when he wants to hide from me or sleep.

First of all - congratulations on getting your first chameleon!

I agree with both Carol and Olimpia, you need more vegetation in the cage - it will provide your chameleon with a richer environment, more places to explore, to hide and hunt.

As for the waterfall, it may have the advantage of increasing humidity a little by circulating water, but your chameleon will likely be indifferent to it.... At the end of the day, even though pleasant to look at, it is really more a pain in terms of maintenance than it is worth. Not to mention the fact that by adding more plants there will not be space for it!

One more thing - my personal recommendation when selecting a plant is always towards Scheffleras - they look great, are low maintenance compared to other plants and thrive in the humid, warm environment you need for your chameleon.

what type of plants do you have in the front there?:D

They are all ficuses except for the two hanging pothos. The focus come in either all green or the green and white, more often available at nurseries. I find that the white and green ones do better indoors, which is why they look fuller than my green ones in the same cage lol
