First chameleon

Hi my girlfriend got me a chameleon for Christmas as she's seen me looking at them in my local pet shop. He is a Ambilobe panther chameleon, the guy in the shop has the breeding pair one from Europe one from America a rukka and a beastman if that means anything to anyone. Made up with him he's growing fast I feed him on crickets an locusts an the occasional wax worm. He's about 16 weeks now and just recently decided he likes coming out the viv, he would usually run off when I opened the front now he runs to the front scratching the glass an jumps on my hand as soon as the gaps big enough to get through.

Hi the viv has 4 vents on the back and a mesh hole on the top where the heat lamp sits. This is the viv I was recommended to use as he said glass and mesh vivs are hard to keep warm in the winter. Probably use a mesh enclosure in summer.

Hi, I was going to stick it in the corner to make a ledge for him but it doesn't stick to the wood so I've just put it on the glass for him to climb on

gotcha gotcha. you probably can just take it out as im not sure if climbing on something like that is good for there feet/claws.

Not so sure I agree with that. Glass holds humidity and heat pretty well. At least in my experience. Usually all mesh cages have a harder time with humidity. The key us good airflow. A glass and mesh enclosure if designed right will offer th e best of both worlds, but that's just my opinion.

Your Chan looks great. I also like the setup, not so sure about the enclosure though...

Thanks, he is getting some nice colours. As for the enclosure I was going to buy a mesh one but I was advised against them, he said mesh is best but I'd struggle to keep it warm unless the heatings on all night. I'll try one in the summer
