First free range, plants problems

Hi everybody !

I finally moved in Montreal for my 1 st job. I m here for 2 weeks and I already got my Cham, I couldnt wait anylmore.

It s a male blue panther of 4months, from local breeder.

I bought a ficus (2nd hand) and also I pothos.

For now, I put the ficus against the electric radiator, with UV and heating lamp over it.

The chams seems happy. Eating and drinking a lot. He doesnt leave the tree for now. Well it s been 3 days only.

However the Ficus is much less happy. I know it s normal it looses leaves when changing place, but I really think it doesnt like the heat of the radiator. The leaves just over it are shrimped and dry.

Which big plant could support the heat ?

Cheers :)

He was always thirsty, so I made him a droplet.

maybe it also doesnt like the "wind" made by the rising air.

I m thinking about putting the potos the closest to the radiator and put the ficus further.

Telling from the way of your panther eating from your hand, I'm sure it wouldnt mind being moved by you a little.

Thats a great looking guy! Congradulations! Its true ficus will drop the leaves and remake more appropriate leaves. How much heat is coming out of the radiator? Is it very cold there?

It is pretty docile. I m quite sure it has been well taken care of before I get it, and since it s CB... This picture was taken 1h after I brought him home.
Seems normal to hand feed. Is it not ?

I could also go for an artificial plant... but what can you do? I m sure it wont die from heat :p !

The room is heated to ~~21°c(69°F). Then under the lamp it is about 24°C (75°F) , and over the radiator in the flux of hot hair it can get about 29°C (84°F).
He is a smarty and moves above radiator when cold I think. Anyway he has quite light colors during day so I suppose he s okay.
Outside... it s -10 to -20°C ! (14 to -4°F)

Oh, hell get bored and wander from the tree. Pretty soon youll be having to hunt him down and watch your steps;)

Okay ! Some news : I found him a name : Charlie, for, in french "Ou est Charlie?" "Where is Waldo?" in english

I now have a much better Setup.

I put more resitants plants over the radiator but even the Potos' leaves in the air flow got burnt out. Doesnt matter they are behind !
The ficus was moved to the side. It lost all its leaves, but new one started to grow out so it is starting to look like a live tree again.

The branch is there so that he can bath in the sun when it turned more ouest during the afternoon. I instaled a small retractable branch which I will need to change for sthing bigger.

Until the last few days he always stayed in his domain, and always going back on the ficus to sleep in the evening.

More recently we found him on the lamp... and on the kitchen's table ( seems like he climbed by the bike tyre and then an electric cable ! )

I am thinking the Ficus is just doing the normal leaf drop due to change in lighting conditions. If you are using a 6500K light on the free range area, the ficus should bounce back. The UVB lamp and heat lamp won't be enough light...
