First Pics of my Panther

These are my first pics, I don't have a very good camera, so have to get closer and it upsets him, I am planning on a better camera soon. He's eating about 14 crickets a day, a little dehydrated, but hopefully that will be taken care of soon with my new cage and mist king set up. What do you all think.

Sired by Noki of Komeleons. Turning 4 months old this week. His name is Grumpy.

He is stunning. I love how his body is the mix of blue/green and I bet that red is really going to stand out when he's full-grown

Thanks, I've only had him 10 days, he's currently in an exo-terra cage, so am hand misting 4 times daily and use a home made dripper. I was told to feed him 10-12 crickets, but he seems so hungry so been feeding 12-15 daily with an occational meal worm, setting up a dubia cage now and will be ordering some dubias soon. He runs and hides everytime I get close, hopefully he gets friendlier.

Wow! He's a stunner already! That yellow-green around his eye in the first pic...I look forward to seeing how that develops! Congrats on your new buddy :)

He looks great! he'll be a stunner! I get my 1st panther in a month or so. Im soo excited!!!:D where did you get your backround? I want something similar.

Thanks, The background came with the exo terra cage, you can purchase it separately but the largest they sell is 18"x24" (google exo terra background). I would not recommend the exo terra cage due to watering requirements. I work out of my home so am here most of the day, so mist "Grumpy" at least 4 times a day. I have ordered a DIY 24"x24"x48" cage and a mist king, and am planning to get the rain hood from aquazamp. With these systems you will need good drainage, which you do not have in the glass exo-terra cage.

Ive got a mistking myself and i love it. The timer has a bit of a learning curve but its easy once you get acclimated. I plan on building a large cage for my new guy.

time it takes to handle

Don't set a time frame to handle your cham. When it happens it happens. I have had some come to me from day one, while others take months. My friendliest a female veil was always nice but after 4 months, she runs to her cage door now to be held. She will sit with me all day literally, if i don't put her back. She let me hold her the day before laying 48 eggs. Some that were nice at first are now mean as can be. it just depends. Keep in mind: dogs can leave them permenantly skittish.

Last night I moved his cage from my TV room to a corner in my bedroom, less noise and movement, I'm hoping this helps him become less skittish.
