First time owner. Still building.

Chameleon Info:

• Your Chameleon - Veiled Chameleon, Female, I think a few weeks old not sure, i have had her for 1 day
• Handling - Have not handled her at all. She is still getting used to enclosure
• Feeding - Feeding her Crickets and dandelions, she ate 3 crickets today and chewed on some dandelions, feed her this morning, gutloading is fluckers orange cubes.
• Supplements - Fluckers vitamin d calcium
• Watering - I am doing the manual misting every few hours. And I mist for a few mins each time. I havent visually seen her licking anything yet.
• Fecal Description - Briefly note colors and consistency from recent droppings. Has this chameleon ever been tested for parasites? She was tested by the place I got her. And havent seen her poop yet
• History - she just got most of her skin pealed off. Only have had her for a day. She is very active and hunts for her crickets

Cage Info:

• Cage Type -Reptibreeze all mesh cage 16x16x30
• Lightig - zoo.med 5.0 reptisun uvb and 60w daylight blue and I turn it on at 8am and off at 8PM
• Temperature - From the floor to basking spot is around 73f and the lowest it gets over night is around 60f I have a digital them to measure temps
• Humidity - I'm having troubles with the humidity, I mist her and the cage every few hours.
• Plants - I have no live plants all fake except for the moss and one of the vines is real. Currently building it more. Need help with this
• Placement - The cage is in my bedroom. There are no vents or fans that are on regularly. And it isnt a high traffic area. The cage is sitting on top of a dresser prob 5 feet from the floor
• Location - I am located a hour north of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania.
• She is currently climbing to the top of her cage. I am going today to get more plants and a feeding bowl for her enclosure. I have read a ton of stuff and watched a bunch of videos. She is my first ever reptile and I want to make sure I'm doing this correctly to give her the best life that I am able too.

Theres a lot to be changed honestly, but it'll all be worth it! Your cage will look better, your chaneleon will be happier and overal way healthier! A few things off that bat, the lights your using are no good, they dont provide enough uvb for a young chameleon. Instead you should look into getting a t5ho linear uvb light! This will not only make your cage brighter but its much healthier for you baby cham! Secondly, i would suggest a bunch more horizontal stick! Like a ton!! The more the better, but not over crowded. And on top of that, they really prefer live plants, i would definitely try to get some in there. Pothos are a great plant to help fill up the space, and pretty comon! Besides those two things i would suggest taking out the moss on the ground! Its a bacteria playground!
As for all the necessities such as, supplements, lighting, watering, temperatures, and everything else veiled ill pass you over to @Beman , shes GREAT!! Good luck! Try and get most of the changes done ASAP!

Hi there and welcome to the forum. So this is going to be a ton of feedback and you will need to make changes to the cage rapidly. I am going to give my feedback in red bold. • Handling - Have not handled her at all. She is still getting used to enclosure Good do not handle for the next 2 weeks.
• Feeding - Feeding her Crickets and dandelions, she ate 3 crickets today and chewed on some dandelions, feed her this morning, gutloading is fluckers orange cubes. She should be eating a minimum of 12 small crickets every day in the morning. Gutloading needs to be changed. The fluckers is worthless. I will post an image for this.
• Supplements - Fluckers vitamin d calcium. Does this show with D3 or without? You need a calcium without D3 to use at every feeding except 2 times a month when you give calcium with D3 and two times a month when you give a multivitamin. I recommend Reptivite with D3 it is a combo of multivitamin and calcium with D3... you would only do this 2 times a month. Repcal makes a good calcium without D3 for every other feeding. Feeders should be lightly dusted. Should not look like powdered donuts.

• Lightig - zoo.med 5.0 reptisun uvb and 60w daylight blue and I turn it on at 8am and off at 8PM You need a T5HO fixture and a 5.0 UVB bulb for it. The compact bulbs do nothing for them. This is very very important so it does not develope MBD.

Adding to that. Your basking level should be 8 inches below the top of the cage... You will need many many more horizontal branches for the enclosure. plants will help fill it out as well. Should be like a jungle for it to be able to hide in.

Thank u so much! Very very helpful! I'm out today getting stuff for them. I'm trying to find the plant and I got new vines and such for it. I will also pick up the calcium. Thank u so much! Very very helpful! I'm out today getting stuff for them. I'm trying to find the plant and I got new vines and such for it. I will also pick up the calcium. I'm getting a new UVB light today also. Thank u so much for the feed back and help! I'll update everything once I collect all of that!

In @Gingero videos pay attention to how she has her enclosures. That is what you are needing to create. Multiple levels with the highest level 8 inches below the top of the cage. It is very important that they have this type of environment. You can use tiny zip ties to attach to your screen sides. You can use branches from your yard as long as they are not from a sap producing tree. Give them a wash off and a good rinse then dry.

Looking better... Are you measuring from the inside top to the basking branch? Seems like more then 8 inches..... What bulbs do you now have in the double dome?

I did measure it. And it's almost spot on 8inches. And I turned off the UVB light and it's just the basking bulb in there now. Ordered the supplement off amazon bc the store didnt have any without b3. I'll post when it gets here it says it wont be here til may 9th tho. It was the one u recommended.
