Fischer chameleon

i brought butter worms and waxworks to mix with his mealworms that he never touch since I got him 6 days ago and only ate 2 crickets that I fed by tong in total. I leave a container with the mealworms near his basking spot. Is there a proper way to feed worms?

Chances are your fischeri is a wildcaught import that doesn't recognize most of our commercially available feeders. Worms don't move around much so they probably don't attract his attention. Most likely the wholesalers and importers feed crickets. You could try stick insects (Phasmids), mantises, and bluebottle flies. You can order fly larvae online. Silkworm moths possibly as well. Most chams love hunting flying insects! Another try with worms would be to put them in a larger plastic container so they move around more.

I would try with other feeders. Crickets as you are doing plus roaches as main feeders.
He may not like cup feeding or he is still getting used to the new place. Give him some time and do not offer food every day and take it out.

Use mainly plain calcium for dusting the insects, and calcium with D3 much less. They are sensitive to vitamin D3 and A. It depends on the brand.
I personally recommend Sticky tongue farm miner-all.
Good luck with your new friend.

Hi Carlton, thanks for replying. I have been leaving 3-4 crickets inside his cage each morning and never eaten one. I'm from Vancouver, Canada. Is there a website that I can order and ship live feeders like the one you're talking about?

Should I leave 3-4 crickets inside and if they aren't eaten, just leave the, inside? Wouldn't that be a issue for the chameleon when he's sleeping ?

If he is wild caught chances are he will be more inclined to eat small insects. If they fly even better. At least for a start until he is used to the changes.
