Fischer's Question

Fisher's seem to be an inexpensive Wild-Caught (WC) Chameleon, but i never see Captive Hatched (CH) or Captive Born (CB) available. Are the Fischers hard to breed and/or raise??:D

Which species of fischers are you talking about? I'm pretty sure FLChams sold captive breed standard fischers (K. multituberculatum) in the past and seem to have sold vosselers (K. vosseleri) as well. I think the reason why most people don't breed them is because they don't really have as a big of a market as panthers or veileds. They're mountain species and require a little more care with their temperatures and humidity which tend to make some cham people wary about them. Also they don't have the bright flashy colors as the panthers. My favorite panther locales aren't exactly the most colorful (Nosy mitsio, maroansetra and tamatave), I guess that's why I don't mind fischers not being so colorful.

EDIT:
As for breeding and/or raising them. Have no experience with it. I have a WC adult pair which I bought this April, but I don't plan on breeding them any time soon.

i was gonna breed this little guy, but the female that i was gonna use to breed died. she didnt recooperate from laying. but that guy has seven little eggs that look real good. now we just have to wait..

he told me that its very hard to come across female fischers. that out of 15 males that are wc only one female may come in. and when they do come in some come in gravid and dont lay their eggs and die. which has also happened to him. so far hes lost 2 this year. (females)

The reason I have not bred my guy is that I have not gotten my hands on a female. My male is CH and I was hoping to find a CH female.
How is this guy not colorful? :)

Here is my guy, Malachite. He's 2 1/2 and I got him from Mike @ FL Chams 2 yrs ago as a WC- Kinyongia matshiei. He was very well acclimated when I received him, Mike did a great job. He is a cool and colorful dude who will eat anything. His favorite right now is male dubias. Love those Popeye arms!

Gorgeous photos Tylene. Definitely well fed chameleons. :)

I LOVE that last picture.

Hahaha, why is he holding his grasshopper?

I guess it was too good to be true and he had to think about how he was going to eat it, so he didn't want it to go anywhere. When he did finally eat it he still held on the the wings with one foot until he got it down far enough. Anyone else see this with Fischer's? He's done it with stick bugs too. Looked like he was smoking a cigar!:)
