Hey guys just wondering if anyone else likes to go fishing? I do but I'm a novice with it. Just 3 or 4 days ago they stocked the river and it was first day trout. Sadly the weather was crap here yesterday so I couldn't go out. By crap I mean it was snowing:eek: so today it's only 50. Do you think I would still be able to catch something with it being 50 or no? Thanks for your input feel free to share your fish stories!

Great to see another fishermen/woman:D:D:D:D on here!!

I love fishing, it's one of my favorite past times. my hunting season ends in may till till late August, so that's just about all ill be doing. My dellema will be do I go for opener for trout or turcky .

I never do vary well fishing trout, but I fish the run every year and might catch one or 2. At my brothers I can catch Brookies, Brown's and rainbows all day from a small creek, all only a pound or 2.

But what I do know is if we're you are is is anything like here in Canada, the run is on and the cold doesn't matter ( they live in colder lakes ). It also snowed here yesterday, so it seems we get pretty close to the same weather. It will have more to do with how muddy the river or creek your fishing is, and how much faster it's running then normal due to all the run off from the snow melting and how much it's rained.

Down here its rained a ton, and all the snow melting is swelling the creeks in my area making it run faster. but guys are pulling them out still ( you can still fish early in curtain areas here ). It's just slow right now.

If your interested in the outdoors at all, I'm apart of a great outdoors forum. Its an Ontario forum, there's a guy on there who lives in PA.

I hope this helps. If you have any more questions feel free to ask or PM me:D

My husband fishes - Every year on opening day it seems to snows around here and there plenty of people catching stuff. Where we are they stock every Monday and your not allowed to fish till either 5 or 6 - that's when he likes to go. - The stream is right by the house - On the week ends he'll go to less populated streams - it' shoulder to shoulder near the house.

I flyfish. I'm lucky to have a special regulations fly fishing river a few hundreds yards behind the house.:D

I'm a trout guy. The river behind the house has a nice population of wild browns. I usually don't get out in the spring. I prefer summer evenings hoping to catch a nice caddis fly hatch.

I love fishing!!! I mainly now do salmon and steelhead fishing but i prefer the fall even though now you can do it year round. I also love crabbing too. when i was stationed at fort carson i use to fish for trout i think colorado is the best trout fishing i have ever done!!! SHIZAM!!! ALAKAZAM!!!

I love it, though I don't get out as much anymore. Living on an island I usually go deep sea fishing for fluke/flounder, or anything I can pull up really haha. I used to know a guy who made the best bluefish steak I've ever eaten. I must have been 12 when I had a really good trip with my aunt and uncle. Fluke, sea bass, and porgy, my uncle made a great sauce for the sea bass. I gotta get out there more often haha.

You fly fish too?!? What do you go for? I mainly try for pike and trout but I get a few bass and perch as well.

I've always wanted to fly fish, Funny I bought a fly reel and a rod. I ended up selling it to my brother, I just couldn't get into it. I guess I just don't have aan one to go with.

Would love to ocean fish it's always been a dream of mine.

Fly fishing is, in my opinion, more exciting than regular fishing. It's makes any fish seem twice or three times the actual size, and it's really relaxing, just the way you move the pole for a casting.

I bet. I could just never got into it. Plus I just don't have the space in the creeks and rivers around me.

I agree on the space comment, whenever I tried I got my line stuck in a tree. The last time I gave it a shot, I didn't catch a thing. That was probably 10 years ago, I should really get back into it as well. Fly-tying was a lot of fun though.

I love the taste of seafood though, almost nothing better, especially when done right. I had the ability to go with family, so even if I didn't catch a thing, there was still a fresh fish on my plate. I really need to get back out there, maybe this summer I'll give my aunt and uncle a call.

Thanks Tony
For reminding me how much I enjoy fishing. What a shame you are on the other side of my state.
Always have loved the outdoor and nature.
Maybe someone closer can go with you or I

hello tagerlilly, i'm in northern illinois and the dnr stocked our local lakes about 2.5 weeks ago with rainbows. my go to lure every year is size 2 silver plated spinners on bright days, and gold plated number 2's on dark days. build your own with parts from ''lure parts online. '' saves you cash so you can spend it on your chameleon.
