Had my cham 3 days. Come home from a 14hr work day on a Friday and it would appear that my cat jumped on top of the cage and the screen caved in. When i got home the timer had already shut everything off for night time but one of the plants got burned by the basking light that fell in. Thank God my apartment didn't catch fire. The cat is now outside, where he will remain. The cham is nowhere to be found. Also the fact that he was still a baby only 2 or 3 month old I don't know if he's hiding somewhere or if the cat ate him. Waaaahhhhh this sux I had him for 3 days and now this

Oh my gosh, I hope you find him. You said you hope the " date" did not eat him? I think you meant the cat? typo? Unfortunately, that is a possibility but I sure hope not.

have you been checking warm spots like behind electronics and anywhere that is slightly warmer then usual also check wires and behind things they can ninja it up and manage to get just about anywhere they want

Well I locked the cat in my room last night and turned the AC a lil colder and stayed at a friends house. I haven't been home yet I'm hoping to leave the apartment peaceful so he will maybe make a move back to his trees and basking lamp where its warm. There's no blood or body so i think he's still alive somewhere.... I hope

That would be one dead cat. I took my guy out for a bit and my dog tried to get home let's just say mr doggy won't be near jay again(he got crated for a whole day lol) but cats are the devil!!!! Hope you find him!!!!

Hope you find him. This might seem gross to you but I'd be searching the litterbox, I don't know how well they can digest bones. Don't stop looking! :D Many a person has lost their cham on here and received it weeks later.

This may be stating the obvious, but did you check the whole cage thoroughly? He may just be hiding in his plants having such a scare! Mine hates that cats being in his sight and always hides himself behind his branch when he sees them. Or, like others have said, they will go somewhere high and warm, and even possibly somewhere dark if it was nearing sleepy time. Good luck with your search. I have cats and I know that when they catch things outside there is always some evidence, like a headless mouse or such. Mine rarely eat what they bring home, they just present it like a trophy.

I agree to keep looking but loosing it for weeks in the house versus outside is a different story. Inside they have no access to food or water so its chances are not going to be as good especially if he is a young chameleon. I don't mean to sound like a downer but I don't want to give him false hope that it could be missing for two weeks in his house. The chances of him being found alive would be very slim.

Just got home still no cham. Look behind my TV n cable box even pulled my fridge out and looked back there and nothing :/

This is so frustrating. I don't know if he's dead and just get over it or if he's still alive hiding somewhere. This sux.

Well still no cham. I've decided to go ahead and move the plants back outside till i rebuild the cage and get a new cham. so depressing.

Sorry you haven't found your baby.

Before moving the plants outside, put them in the tub and give them a very good shower but arrange them so the baby can climb up out of the water if he is in there somewhere.

Otherwise, put some bugs in a cup right by the lights and keep them on a regular schedule for a while. Maybe the little guy will make it back if he has still survived this far?

Good luck with this and Better luck on the next one!
I am really thankful my cat likes the chams and is very well behaved around them and even guards them from my grandkids!
