my hummidity is not staying up where i would like it soo untile i get the missting system that im going to order well that do and when i get my misting system would it be ok to run both if it stays under 80% humidity?

I use the Zoo Med reptile fogger, and my Chams LOVE them. $41 on Amazon. I tilt them towards a plant, and the water beads on the leaves and keeps the humidity up and when my chams want they go and bask in the mist. I can't say enough good things about the fogger. I have to refill the water morning and evening, and I mist them with a sprayer once a day, but more to give them a shower:) For a plan I recommend a Hoya (also called a wax leaf plant) The leaves form little bowls and hold water. Good luck!

Ive been using the reptifogger for about a week now. I run it 24/7 on low, yes about once in morning, once in evening it gets refilled. The output can be isolated to one area by aiming straight down, but I keep it slightly angled out from the corner and it gives it more range, I use this with misting and a humidifier in the room. My jackson loves it. Maybe make sure your animal has the option of being near it or not, keep in mind the more your animal can get uvb/shade/heat/hi-low humidity in whatever combinations it wants, the better off it should be :)
But anyways its a decent by yes. Just use distilled in it so you dont have to worry about the plate going out...

New and learning.... but could a ultrasonic cool mist humidifier just as this http://www.google.com/products/catalog?hl=en&nord=1&q=safety+first+ultrasonic+360&gs_upl=&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&biw=1920&bih=949&ion=1&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=shop&cid=2921781580835028843&sa=X&ei=HvDLTvHJA6Wc2AXwt-yaDw&sqi=2&ved=0CEYQ8wIwAw be used???

I use this with my Water Dragon to keep up humidity and have it angled and tubed in to where I want it. It also has an adjustable spray amount on it. It was cheaper then the Repti Fogger and and seemed to do the same thing for me. Just curious.....

absolutely. there are plenty of people on here that use ultrasonic cool mist humidifiers to help with humidity. i have one lyin around the house somewhere that i hope to put to good use for my cham soon :)

I use the Walgreens ultrasonic humidifier. I made an adapter where that fog comes out, and now I hook up 2 hoses. they run behind the cages and the fog falls from the top of the cage.. looks pretty sweet and works perfectly well.

just curious, living in FLA you have a problem with the humidity? I never do in my house and I don't worry about outside. I keep my AC on pretty much all year at about 74-75 degrees.

My dad likes to keep the house cold..72 degrees or less . The AC kills the humidity. I do not run the humidifier constantly, just every once in a while.. Now that I have taken completely over the guest room, I will probably be able to close of the air vents and the humidifier will be rendered pointless.

got ya. I still have humidity in my house even with the AC.More so in the cage with all the water and plants and stuff but It never gets below mid 50's in there. I guess every house is different.

Yeah, I have 3 BIG AC's in my house.. My dad is building a Boeing 737 flight simulator (1:1 scale) so there cant be any humidity or excess heat otherwise the aluminum and different materials in the simulator will contort and when they cool down, everything will be mixed up. they gotta be kept at a constant temperature. I have my hobbies, he's got his :p

I have a sharper image ultrasonic humdifier pointed on cham newtons basking spot and he friggin loves it, keeps humidity up, i clean it regularly to make sure no harmful mold or spores develop in it... it's by far the best looking and most effective way to keep humidity up, with water drip you have to worry about buildup and bacteria as well as drainage....

So a fogging machine is necessary for a veiled Cham? I'm in the uk, its nowhere near as humid or hot as the us. I have a vivarium with glass doors..

I wouldn't say necessary, no. Not everyone use them. It depends on what your humidity levels are in your viv. What are your readings?
