Food cup

Home depot had a clearance 4 inch PVC pipe for a good price so I thought...food cup for vacations. Lol. I used the swedge end to slide over the main cup to secure the aluminium mesh for the base and for climbing to stimulate my cham. I then put magnets on it so I can secure it strong enough anywhere in his cage. 20180703_190237.jpg 20180703_222126.jpg 20180703_222118.jpg

LOL. Not sure who Nick Barta is, but that was crafted by myself and my 12 year old so as you can see it's not exactly a patent pending design. We just saw a plastic bottle design and changed it to one a little larger and more sturdy for long term use with Aluminum screen. So far it has worked well, but they can climb out of it so I would shorten the screen the next time. The magnets work well, but the hot glue broke so I used liquid nails on the repair. Lesson learned.

Ahhh, just looked him up. I'll pm him and take it down if I infringed on anything. His are way better looking than my attempt. Not that I know how to remove a post yet though.

Now that I saw he did camo I won't talk about my bright idea to camo dip them lol. I have a friend at Alpine Archery and they have that chemical camo dip that I thought would work well. Maybe that's an idea for Nick.

It is a great idea though. I had a cup where the roaches would escape. I would find roaches everywhere and it was a problem. When the roaches are loose in the enclosure I would not see them, they would hide. They would naturally get hungry and even take small roach bites out of my back wall ( great stuff coated with silicone and eco-earth). One day I noticed a chunk of flesh bitten off the top of my chams rostrall process. The bite was the same shape and size of the small bites on my back wall. No more free roaming bugs in my guys enclosure after that. I took the enclosure apart and found about 15 roaches hiding in there. "Proper" feeder cups are the way to go imho. I will however let hornworms and silkworms climb around the screen.
