Food for thought? LITERALLY!

Today I just bought myself an incubator so I can begin raising/breeding silkworms. During this process I had this thought... Granted I always tend to think waaay outside of the box, but let's just imagine this sceniro and maybe it already exists to some degree.

What if we (the forum members) were to create some kind of insect trading program...?

In other words, why raise superworms, butterworms, silkworms, and dubias when you could join a "bug union" and only be responsible for raising one of them?

Let's imagine a perfect world where you exchanged your bugs for someone else's. Arranged like this, you would only be paying small shipping fees.

I realize this brings lots and lots and lots of other issues up; quality control, your bugs are better than mine, someone not raising their amount, unfair trading, etc. the list goes on and on..

But what if....?

That sounds like a grrrreat idea! :) Hmm...but what to breed..hmmm...I'll take the Hornworms! :p Silkies would be second..! I'll start doing some research! :) Food For Thought! Grreat Idea..

Hey really? I'm a very organized guy and can make it happen if we get enough people involved. I'm already planning to raise silkies to they are taken for now :) LOL

ha yeah I see you already got the Silkies...Darn..but hey the Horns are just as good..So0o Let me do some research on what needs to be done on rainsing them..and once I get it all..and get some wormies..we can trade :)

Anyone else want to join in??? If so...Which feeders would you like to work on?!

I figure what we can do...Once we get enough people to do certain feeders we can make some sort of "Log" of who is working on what...and kind of go from there..then each of us can make individual logs of how many batches and such we've done...Just an Idea..

What do you think Jon?

Yes I have several thousand! I used to have a lot more refills that ate them but have died off over the years and I have always kept the roaches for some reason. This would work out great for me because my wife says we have too many of them!

We should have people doing the same bug.
Like a westcoast/eastcoast/middle america silkie supplier.
and the same for all the other bugs.

I can do westcoast silkies.

this is a great idea and with some perfection and communication could be invaluable, Kudos.... I got nothing lol not even a cham yet lol but one day....

I agree this sounds like a good idea..for those of you who want to do this...Specify where your at.and which feeder you would like to do...

I'm West Coast I'll stick with the Hornworms. :)

I am dead center of the US and would love to trade out my discoids. The full grown adults are too big for most chams, but the 3/4 size bugs are perfect and easy to gutload!

Ok this is great!
We have West Coast Silkies
West Coast Horn Worms
and Middle America Discoids.
