Food strike

Just wondering how long a 1yr old Panther can go with no food. In the last 5 days all I could get him to eat was 1 hornworm. Before that he ate a hornworm and a few supers 4 or 5 days before.

My female pantha went 4/5 weeks on hunger strike, dropped so much weight. Vet told us to force feed untill she was better, she got dehydrated weak etc . She's been eating for 9 days now and she's gained 4 grams.
In my own personal opinion ( I'm not a professional ) start weighing ur pantha every 3/4 days keep hydrated and offer a different variety of good nutritious food ( calci worms, silk worms etc, he might be bored!!!
I cracked our hunger strike with medium crickets , prior force fed wax worms to get some weight on her .

Good luck with ur buddy -

I would get a fecal exam done, a heavy parasite load can definitely cause a hunger strike. Better to rule that out. Many vets will let you bring in the poop without paying for a full visit. Hopefully your boy will start eating soon!

Not sure if this will help but we changed the style of food delivery and that seemed to work for us. Our guy started off hand feeding crickets, Dubia, silk worms, super worms and horn worms. He then stopped eating the crickets and dubia. We tried using a feeder cup and then a DIY sunny D feeder because we didn't want him to have a worm only diet. Neither worked. Low and behold as soon as we started free range feeding he went back to devouring the crickets and dubia. A couple weeks later he still won't eat crickets or Dubia out of our hands anymore.
