Food stuck on roof of mouth

I have a 6-7 months veiled male, recently bought from another owner (2 weeks ago).
Since the move he has been apprehensive about eating, which i hear is him settling in. Recently we think he has started eating, but today we gave him wax worms, his favourite and he ate them in no time. Only problem now is he has one stuck to the roof of his mouth, and a tiny end poking out. I tried very slowly to maybe pick the end out of his mouth with some tweezers, he opened his mouth which i thought meant he was letting me help, but then he jumped off the branch and moved fast than i thought possible. Since he is still getting used to us, he really doesnt want to be handled, or like us very much, apart from when we give him water or food.
Is this a problem he can fix himself, or do we need to take him to the vet.

can you get a pic?
have someone help you CAREFULLY open his mouth, and see if he has an incomplete pallet - it will look like this-

you can see how it is not closed, and this cham will get bugs stuck up there from time to time, and have to have them removed- I would recommend taking him to a vet if he has something stuck, as you can hurt him if you do not know what to you are doing - and I dont think he will want to sit still for you to do this- if he has a bug stuck, I doubt it will come out - although this cham has no tongue , your may be able to work it out, but it does not take long for it to start an infection - if he still has it in by Monday, I would take him to the vet -
