Found him in the toilet

I must be a terible cham mom, I found my boy in the toilet this morning and don't really know just how long he had been in there, he was so cold and wet, made me sick to my stomach knowing I could have lost him for good.......I got him out, put a warm towel around him and then placed him under the basking light he uses while out wandering around the house, I do just feel terrible and hope my boy is OK....here is a picture of him after I put him under the light.....please keep the toilet lids down.

That's scary!!!! I was soooo afraid I was going to read something I didn't want to hear!!! Glad you found him in time!!!!

It's great you found him. I doubt the water temp is too much below room temp, so he's probably fine.

He does look a little flushed though...:D

is it bad that I laughed?=) Animals in the toilet always crack me up. My mate's iguana liked to sit in the toilet.
But good that you found him in time!

on second glance i have to ask...

looks like he was saying...

"no, no, don't make me go back in there!"

I noticed i have not heard the word "bath" or "rinsed off". Now we have a poo smelling cham that might be a shade bluer due to the toilet cake...

Just a reminder for anyone with certain types of animals/reptiles. Don't use automatic toilet bowel cleaners. This could have been a bad situation had it not been just water. Glad he's okay and we can laugh about it:)

I am glad that you got him in time!! we always have our seats down, otherwise our dog will drink out of them!!!! yuck

I'm glad that you found him in time. When free ranging they go everywhere and keeping the bathroom doors closed and toilet seats down it a must! I've free ranged for many years and it's amazing where all these little guys can go.

He does look a little flushed though...:D

LMAO!! I am cracking up...lol, lol!

Sorry, I know it's not funny to have found your guy in the toilet - I hope there are no lasting effects of being in the toilet - but at the first sign of him "being down in the dumps", I'd get him to the vet for a check-up! :D

Ive got my two in a free range in the spare/outdated bath room and this was one of the first things that came to mind. Make sure the toilet seat is down at all times!! Glad he is alright!

Thanks y'all for not making me feel like too much of a failure mom, he is just fine this evening and sitting on my shoulder....I still feel terrible every time I think of how he looked this morning in that toilet....but I can laugh now at some of the funny things y'all said today.
