I was wondering if anyone quarrintines them before putting the whole colony together.what types of diseases can they come over with. Or am I just being a freek and I don't need to do any of this

Yes. Quarantine any new arrivals together. They will most likely have intestinal parasites. Have a fecal exam done and once they are eating well deworm for what is found.

It depends on what it is. Some parasites can be given from one species to another. Things like salmonella as well. Always quarantine and use gloves or wash your hands very well. Take care of the non-quarantined animals first and take care of the quarantined animals last and use as many precautions as possible.

You should quarantine ANY new arrival for the safety of your other pets :) Reptile illnesses and parasites can be transferred between species and sometimes even to humans! Especially when you're talking about any WC animal or reptile.

You beat me! :)

It never hurts to have too many opinions. :) As long as it's in the interest of the animals.
