Fruit fly question

This is probably a stupid question, but how exactly do you feed your cham flightless fruit flies? Should I just put some in the cage and let him hopefully find them?

I am having trouble finding small enough crickets for my 2 month old Ambilobe. He won't touch them unless they are tiny.

Any help is appreciated

Just put a few in at a time. They attract attention with their jerky hop-like movements. He'll find them.

try fixing a cup in the enclosure and put them in there. They will climb out eventually but will give your cham chance to find them easier ;)

Best bet is too put at least 30-40 min in the cage. At that age they dont hunt that great. And put a small plastic dish or even a bottle cap somewhere in the cage put a small piece of fruit or even veggie in there. The fruit will attract the flies and keep them fom wandering out thru the screen. This will give the baby a place to hang out and hunt. I put the caps under a branch so that the cham can hang out and shoot down at his/her prey from above.

Ff's are really only good for young chams. Older juvies generally wont even view them as prey anymore since they are so small. Try feeding 20+ at a time, you are talking hundreds of flies.

They tend to stimulate my 3 mo cham's appetite once I give him ff he will go down to his cup and finish off all his crickets that have been sitting there.
