Frustrating

My Cham is really starting to frustrate me. He hasn't really eaten his crickets since about Sunday. I know he will still eat because the second I show him a butter/Phoenix /horn worm he goes right after it. I put some Dubias in his cup this morning and he's shown interest in it but no luck yet:mad:

So any tips/suggestions would be appreciated.

i feel yah man, mine has been a picky SOB lately too. Dubias are my staple, but he stopped eating them regularly, but he was still eating non nutritious super worms, then he stopped eating them, so I bought him crickets which I hate, and he ate like 3, and for the last week all he has eaten is horn worms, and only 1 or 2 a day. Runny poo, thank you very not so much.

welcome to the world of hunger strikes!!! It is very common for them to not want to eat crickets after they have tasted worms! I have to shove crickets in my guys mouth when I give him a worm. That is the only way to get him to eat a cricket!

This happens sometimes once they become spoiled on something more tasty such as dubias ^-^ the only trick thats ever worked for me was giving them a day of water and NO food and trying the next day with the cricket. Hope everything works out!

Hunger stikes are a battle of wills. If he's otherwise healthy, not offering any food for 3 or so days will make them reconsider crickets. But if mine go on strike I don't force them, I'll go find them something new for a few days and this will make them get interested again in food.

Stuff like mixing up your gutload, offering different sized insects, offering crunchy/soft feeders in random orders will also go towards keeping them interested in food.

Aye my male Sambava been getting picky lately, really picky. First he didn't want anything to do with the dubia colony I set up for him back when I got him over a year back. Last month he swore off crickets and this week he hates silkworms (which were always his favorite) and hornworms but can't eat enough dubias!? He is eating though, and quite a bit so I am pleased. He better like the Painted Ladies I have cocooning for him now.

He's still extremely active and alert so I think he's just being stubborn rather than something wrong.

I'm going to order him some different worms to see if that sparks anything.
