Fungus or Bacteria on skin?!? (Vailed)

This is my 1year old Vailed, he had bad eye irritation and now this, no vet has a clue what this is ! But when we took him he got shots of antibiotic, and prescribed some baytril liquid for mouth 2 times a day and gentamicin sulfate opthalmic ointment. any suggestions will help.thanks to the community.

he needs a vet like now.

that eye turret looks seriously infected, and that yellow stuff on his skin, could be G-d knows what.

It all began with his eye, then his little paw, then underneath his jaw, and now these little skin attachments .... im in San diego and it sucks because I feel like every vet is just trying to get money off me, since it's an exotic! Any exams you guys recommend or medicine I can refer ? They asked for blood work and X-rays and a lab culture

the x ray may not be needed right now, but the blood work is good to check for any internal issues, (liver, kidney etc) and the lab culture is needed to determine what the infection is an the best meds to treat it.

baytril is the go to for anti biotics for chams, but there are others that may be better suited.

and the stuff on the skin may have nothing to do with the eye, or its all related.

Vets cost money

That would seem like a pretty standard set of tests, for a new patient who has signs of infection, simply looking at an infection can be an indicator of the root cause, however there are so many potential issues, also by carrying out those tests the vet will be able to see and advise you on any other health problems that are picked up, and as such will hopefully prevent you having to spend more money with him or her.

So should I get a blood test from the Cham or recommended by the other vet lab culture, I just want to provide the right testing to truly find out what's wrong and what's accurate relating to the Cham.

im not sure what youre asking here.

the lab culture is required IMO, and the blood work would be highly recommended.

the eye is an infection, tht stuff on the skin could be a fungus, could be pus from him rubbing his eye on himself and it sticking to his skin, who knows.. but a vet would.

I feel like this wood stick was the problem.! Idk why it looked clean , but I went through his first months without it and was healthy as can be, possibly the stick could have brought in bacteria !?

He's strong , and quite grown up . Hopefully he has a higher chance of survival

could be the stick, esp if you didn't wash it and bake it.

could just be an infection.

Thanks for the input ! Freakgin sucks! He's up and moving however! But after that culture they say 2weeks is required for results. Any recommendations on what I can do for the meanwhile? I'm waiting on the vet.

the vet should still be able to prescribe an anti biotic for the eye, or for internal use.

for th eyes, I wouldn't know what to prescribe for that, but the in general broad spectrum anti biotic we usually use is baytril.

stick

Could the stick be drift wood with a lot of salt on it? Maybe a bath in warm water? Just a thought.
