Furcifer Petteri

Arkive.com is a very cool site you should definitely check out. While I was on there I came across these pics of a male Furcifer Petteri. I never knew they could look like this!!! simply amazing colors, Im sure a female or another male was in sight but wow!

Very nice species indeed. Been working with them for a short period but they are very fragile chams to keep.

In my opinion that is not a "typical" Furcifer petteri male. I could be wrong but I have a feeling that may actually being something different (as of yet undescribed). Definitely a spectacular animal.

Could be ! The ones I know have definitly shorter "blades". And, If I remember right the red coloration isnt so big with males - but I'm no expert here, I have seen them just twice alive

5th agreed:) of all the petteri/willsi pics Ive seen over the years, this looks nothing like them with these colors and the much longer rostrals. Ive never seen anything like it! Im guessing an undescribed species. Spectacular nonetheless! My new fav.

I agree as well. I (or 'we' back in the days) only had a young couple so I didn't really see the adult colors, but the pictures I've seen of other peterri's are definitly different. De rostals are usually smaller and colors are not that spectacular. On the other hand I have seen colors on wiedersheimi peretti (just Trioceros peretti now) that you don't see often as well, the brightest blue you can ever imagine on the male. You can see them here:

(sorry btw for posting something different, just petteri reminded me of peretti XD)
