About a week or 2 ago I noticed the coloration of area on his back change darker. I thought it might of been do to the lighting or a burn from the lighting because I recently changed it from a exo Tera reptile vision to a exo Tera repti-glo 5.0 because my Mom broke it and when she reordered it she got me the rept-glo not the reptile vision so then I switched it back to a reptile vision and it continued. I figured that it would just shed off but now he’s shedding slowly and that discoloration is looking moist kinda white gray, is this wet gangrene on his back and Is there something i can apply to it like neosporin to help it get better??? I dont like seeing my Cham this way please help me to help my Cham.
Thanks

Should have stuck with the 5.0, the EXT does not produce UVB. Your chameleon has MBD, it can be seen in the first pic.

You need to fill out the help form.

Could be a fungal infection. How long has he been in shed like that? I would say a visit to the vet would probably be warranted. There are other things that can cause concern such as vitamin deficiency, or a chronic skin condition.

I would disagree with this. I believe the first picture is just a strange camera angle capturing the cham moving. In all of the other pictures, all of the legs appear to be very straight.

I do, however, agree that the UVB lighting should be improved and the help form should be filled out with pictures of the enclosure and more pictures of the animal to see it's general appearance. This cam does look unwell in the pictures, but that could also be situational, if he's not used to or comfortable with being handled.

I did consider this before I commented, and if it were the only indicator I saw id agree with you. But when you add in the lack of a sufficient UVB source, no mention of supplements whatsoever, and that the Mom has to order the parts(indicating inexperience) makes MBD more probable than not in my mind. It is not uncommon for a cham to present certain symptoms in one part of their body and not any others.

Not saying you are wrong, just explaining my line of thinking.

Crap! I didnt realize till just now that the exo Tera reptile vision didn’t have UVB, Ill switch the bulbs back. If it is MBD what can I do to fix it?
Thanks for the help guys

Its been shedding like this for about 2-3days now and before the shed it was just a darker coloration now its kinda gray white in the area closest to the head

My Mom did not have to order anything she did it with out me knowing because she broke the one before. I’m experienced i just didnt realize that the exo Tera didnt have uvb. everything else is good the supplements ect. I have other cham’s that are doing fine in the same conditions the lighting was changed tho.

OK, since were on the subject, the uvb source she purchased is insufficient as well. You need a linear T5HO, same for your other chams.

What is your supplement schedule?
