geckco tatoo-her dad's gonna kill her

Hi Syn, remember you and my daughter share the same birthday! She said she does not know what kind of gecko it was, just something the guy made up!
I most certainly do! The guy certainly has quite the imagination. Tell her I hope she enjoys it.

I have known alot of people that start with one and a few months later they have 5 or 6... And then a few more, and more... That's why I haven't gotten any? I'm afraid I might want a second one and then a third and so on....

I'm one of those people, lol. I got my first tattoo a couple of years ago now i have 5. :D I love the feeling when getting inked (im a strange 1) but i do doubt i'll ever get any more.

So my daughter has been wanting to get a tattoo forever and we told her not while she's living under our roof. We had some leverage before because you have to be 18 or over to get one without consent of your parent in Florida and we told her no! So she turned 18 on Aug 8th and came home with this! I am not happy about it. It is WAY too big and her father is literally gonna go bananas when he sees it. So I ask, would you kill your daughter.???

I wouldn't kill her. I think as long as she is aware of the consequences then she can make her own decision. If she plans to be a nurse remind her that even if some hospitals don't mind tattoos that show when wearing scrubs the patients might have a fit. There are a lot of elderly people in hospitals.

If my son (now 13) wanted a tattoo I would give him my blessing as long as he showed me the design first. I just would want to make sure he thought about it carefully and didn't get something too "dated" or something he would outgrow. No GF's names or anything like that.

Yea make sure he thinks about it REALLY carefully.

It drives me nuts when peoples multiple tattos dont flow together :/
Like it should all have a theme and have meaning behind it or at the vary least look good together :p

I am sure she will be wearing some type of shoe that will cover her foot when she becomes a nurse so I hope that will not be an issue! I just got a feeling in years to come she's gonna look down at her foot and "go what the heck was I thinking?" It's "cute" now at 18, but maybe not at 28 ya know?

Well my dads 45 and hes got both sleeves done and one on his back
and a portrait of my mom half naked on the back of his leg.
(I swear my parents arent trailor trash LMAO, cuz I know the above sounds real bad :p)

Any who he doesnt regret a single one mostly because all of them have a meaning behind them.
I dont think you really start to regret them till your reallyyyyyyyyy old like 70s or something LOL or maybe you never really ever regret them if they have meaning behind them :)

does your duaghters have a meaning behind it? Did she tell you one?

At least she got a good artist to do it. I worked in a tattoo shop for about 6 months and I saw some bad tats,... She's got a good one.

Yeah, it's important to get something not "dated" if you're going to get a tattoo. For me "cute" is in that category. For some, maybe not.

But don't forget there is laser removal, which I imagine will be cheaper and more accessible by the time she's tired of this tattoo. Even if the laser can't remove it completely, she could at least get something else she likes better in its place (if/when she gets tired of it).

I personally can't believe how many girls (going into nursing) I see getting tattoos in really obvious places, on the chest and forearms and neck, behind the ears. Sorry, but a 90 year old dementia patient is not going to understand that it's normal in the current time.

I have a huge piece on my lower leg, and I think that's more conservative than a tiny one on the forearm.

Very Cool! I actually am getting ready to have my first work done at 26! And of all things... It is actually going to be a portrait of Lombardi on My shoulder. My personal taste would have requested a species specific piece though... But that is just me... and I am a nerd.

How does that make you feel Juli.... I will be permanently marked with a portrait of one of Leons sons. :D:cool:

not sure why she picked a gecko. It is something she had always talked about getting but she always wanted to own a chameleon not a gecko! She told me she is really not interested in getting more and I believe her. She has always wanted a gecko on her foot! She said she does not like girls with a bunch of tattoos. A few years back a friend of hers died and she wanted to get the "memorium" tattoo and I told her never put someones name on you whether it be a boyfriend or someone that died or whatever. She was too young anyways and I would not sign for it. Years down the line those feelings wear off and your like what the heck did I do?
