getting a new boy!

We are doing tile in the new tank we are working on. We will also have a dig box with alfalfa pellets under the basking platform. I haven't really smelled the poo yet, thankfully. In the past week he has only pooped in the bath and I quickly drained it. I feel really bad for him because he has had that substrate in his eyes and I had to wash it out. He is still closing one eye, but I think it might just be scratched.

If I were you I would have changed the substrate as soon as I received him. You want to make sure that he is in the best living conditions as possible and jusdging by your posts you know that you should change it out to protect him. I would take him to the vet (if you have one near you) so you can see if any damage has been done. This way you can build your new tank to better suit him.

Moving on from that though I can't wait to see the pictures of the new tank. I saw your work on your chameleon cages so I can't even imagine what his new cage is going to look like!

He had been in his current set up for 3 years. He new ultimate build will be complete in the next few days. His eyes are getting better and he will soon know what it is like to be spoiled. Here is a cute pic.

After a week of working diligently the new house is about complete. I know it looks like a child did it, but haven't worked with this medium before so it was a huge learning curve. Sorry for all the glare in the pics, hope you can make everything out.

Here is the full view. We made a basking spot, the "dragon perch" and underneath it is a dig box with alfalfa pellets. We also made a cave and added a tree branch for climbing. The background is also custom.

And here is spike in his new favorite spot, the cave, with his raspberry lip stick on. He never had a cave before and is loving it.

Thanks so much. Its much harder than I thought to make things out of Styrofoam. We will likely upgrade it later. We are also still waiting for his 48" Arcadia bulb to arrive. He seems super happy though. Even took him out for some sun today.
