Getting calls from freaky people!

I think someone put my number on a dating website, and I keep getting calls about "giving away a free iPhone to the 300th caller."

Looks like I'll be changing my phone number. Is there anything else I can do besides that? T-Mobile charged us money to have my sister's number changed before. Bleh.

So far I've gotten like, 40 calls, not all from the same number. One number has called quite a few times and we can't have numbers blocked from cell phones, only land lines.. at least, T-Mobile doesn't offer it.

About the only thing you can do other than changing your number is to ask the next caller where they saw this ad. Review the ad yourself and contact the owner of the classified add to either have the ad removed or updated removing your number and possibly stating that the number provided is false as is the ad.

One time when I was a freshman I put up signs around the dorms saying "Found Baby" etc. etc. and left my phone number because we wanted to see who would actually believe it. Then we put a lost baby flier on the other end with someone elses number.

Wellll, it turns out someone put it on college humor and I ended up getting about 100 calls a day and a few different calls from police stations around the country.

I didnt change the number because it died off, but I did ask and they said it would be like 30 dollars.

I'm having to get my number changed now, but it's for free. I got a new phone and the number they gave me apparently was used already and I have random credit collectors asking for someone that's not me. I'm sure if you call and complain the company can waive the fee. That's what AT&T is doing for me.
