getting my cham fired up?

hey there people,

im not sure if ive ever seen my male panther fully fired up. ive only seenhim gape once when i sprayed him a bit too hard.he is generally bright but brightens up a little extra whe hes hunting. i was wondering, what would be the best way i could get my male panther cham fired up fully. i dont want to stress him out. if there is no real way of seeing him fully fired without stressing him please let me know aswell. thanks in advance for any suggestions

I would suggest using a mirror. He will think that he is seeing another male, and he should fire it up for you.

hey thanks for the advice. ive heard that trick but i wasnt sure if that would really be that great for him. there are no naysayers & im sure they encounter other males in the wild from time to time so illgive it a shot. thanks for the input. take care.

My male veiled only fires up at my camera outside of the cage, and my hand inside the cage. He didn't even fire up at another male... He tried to run towards him while the other male started to fire up and hiss. Some peoples chameleons hate gloves and will fire up at them. My boyfriends chameleon fires up at his phone.

haha, thats funny bout the phone. ya i guess theyre all different to some extent. my baby female ambi panther hates the temp gun with a passion. i feel bad taking her temp cuz she hates it so much. i try to keep it at a minimum but its pretty funny.

so its not all that bad to put them infront of a mirror or try the glove trick from time to time?

Well of course it will cause some stress but I would just keep it to a very low to never in the mirror. You could try showing him a female thats a way to see some great colors.

let him climg up the string on your shades I have been doing it for years he will show amazing colors garunteed. Thats how I get great pics of mine.

I've tried the mirror.....the phone....the camera....and the string. I can't get my vield to be pissy. He's never hissed at me. He's so gental. He's never shown any agression....ugh I'm stuck with a nice one....he's 11 months old to. Perfect age for evil. But he's not wahhahhh......

ya my guy didnt get pissy it was like he just blushed for the girl. the red markings on his face went bright yellow, he got these black stars in the red turrets & his blues went from teal/neon blue to a baby blue. it was very cool! when i tried the blinds i think its that they where moving around & light was shooting through from different spots. his reds turned like orangey pink. iguess if ur guy doesnt get mad, ya its probably just a good thing. i think hell brighten up for a pretty girl. dont know if it might be different for a vield or not.
