ill keep that in mind! and thank you very much!Like Candyman said, a cup is the best way to monitor you little guy's food intake. I hang one inside the enclosure each morning before I leave for work. When I get home, I just count how many feeders (if any) are left. Nice and easy! And congrats!
Interesting, thanks for the info! I love watching him move around. It's amazingI free range crickets for them but feed worms and roaches from cups. I think the excercise and stimulation from hunting a few times a week is good for them, it's rare that any crickets survive more than 24hrs. Once they settle in they are very effective hunters and it's a entertaining to watch them as they develop routines and identify their own preferred ambush locations.
I put a small plastic tray [from a cheese slices that my kids eat] and a branch nearby. I dumped the crickets [gut loaded and dusted with calcium] into the small tray, and he eats them. Some bigger crickets jump out, and he seems to prefer to hunt them, and leave the others for later. Two months later, I see him go to the tray to look for food when hungry, although he did search around the cage a couple times too. I knew he was hungry because he gobbled up the food ASAP once I placed it into the tray. This plastic tray is about 4 x 2 inches and about 2 inches tall. Thanks!!!! I have one question. What are your thoughts on feeder cups? Should I try one out or is free roam hunting better?
