Today I bought my reptiles silkworms at my reptile store they charged me $15 for a cup of 50 charging the same for a cup of hornworms around 20 in a cup other than that their mealworm and cricket prices are fair 20 crickets for a dollar im thinking of ordering from Mullberry Farms directly how much does shipping cost for you if you order from them.

hahah im not trying to be rude at all when i say this, sarcastically using this quote "cry me a river", why? places where i am are 75 cents per silk worm, 1.75-2$ per hornworm, and 1.75-2$ a dozen crickets, 15$ for 250. now.... i think you got it made

Wow I do have it good

I did not realize that feeders were that much in Canada I should become a feeder dealer if I move there

Since you are fairly close to Mulberry shipping won't kill you like it does me. I ordered 2 cups baby silkworms & 2 cups baby horn worms, I had 2 day (not over night) shipping and it was only about $20 to ship and the worms were as ordered, small & alive.:D

Mulberry Farm is having a silkworm sale right now. However, I don't think you're going to get that much better of a price for what you got from your reptile store when you consider shipping. Right now, you can get 50 large for $14 but you have to pay shipping on top of that.

I wish the reptile stores in my area carred more variety in feeders. I've been paying so much in shipping to get the good stuff for my boys!

the only things I can buy locally are small mealworms, superworms, and crickets. Hornworms and silkies aren't an option for me so you really are lucky. Count your blessings.

Yeah no stores in H-town carry horns or silks. I didnt even see any at the repticon show back in august. I just got 2 cups of horns from mulberry farms. I think the shipping was around 10-12 for 2 day delivery.

Where I'm from it's hard to find silkworms or hornworms and when you do, it's easily 2$ a worm, that's why i started raising/breeding my own, but I don't have a green house to put my mulberry tree in, so i have to collect the leafs before winter and store them.

It's a pain in the ass.

I just ordered 100 mixed silkworms, on Monday. Total cost was 25.63 shipped to Los Angeles with tax. 7.15 for shipping.

26 cents a worm. I think you paid 30 cents a worm before tax. + you usually get extra worms that bring the per worm cost down.

If the silkies are big and juicy I only give my chams 1/day along with crickets. Silkies tend to give them looser poops which is why my ratio of silkies to crickets.

I supply silkworms to local stores. Yeah $15 is about what they charge..
Honestly, I do not believe silks should live in a cup, it's just not the healthiest enviornment.. I hope they were already a good size when you got them.. cuz after some time they will perish... unlike the horns.

Not to sound uncaring, because I do care, but I like to keep things in perspective.

The prices you quoted came from a retail pet store, most of the time they order the feeders from the same places we all do. The reason many stores won't stock these food items is because they know that customers can just buy them directly from the suppliers.

Keep in mind as a business they have to make a little profit. Doing it for free is not going to keep them in business. I'd be happy they offer them since at the least if I was in a pinch and needed them right now I could go buy them.

A cham going on a sudden hunger strike is never fun for any owner and being able to just drive out and bring back a different food type is a huge plus.
