I'm really digging this guy! As soon as I open the vivarium door he starts looking to see what I've got in my hands.

Way cool. Did he ever nip your fingers? WC or CB?

I was wanting to get into these once I had the room and time.
 
He did bite me once, most likely because the wax worm I was holding was so close to flesh-colored. He's CH, from Tiki. I think they might still have some left, too!
 
Oh yeah, Darci said she had some, and Ryan had some at the last show. I just need to have the time and money for some. Cute 'lil things, but they are too delicate.

I don't know, this is my first gecko ever and seems to be doing really well. I know wild caughts can be iffy, but this one seems pretty bullet-proof. I say go for it when you get the chance!
 
You'll be saying that when you accidentally rub against it too hard or move it to clean and you see its skin pull away from it's body - gruesome ya? :p

Kent, it won't be your last gecko.. ;) You've been warned! :D
 
He looks great Kent! I kept grandis a few years back i started with a female that laid two eggs i hatched them they were both female.I barrowed a friends male and bred all three females the same night. They later each laid two eggs and i hatched them. I couldn't get enough of these guy's!Later i sold them all for 20$ a piece back then they weren't that expensive .Everyone of them had serious personality.
 
Hey Phil, is that common to have a higher proportion of females hatch? I believe this one is actually a female but since we named her Martin I refer to her as he/him. It seemed all the ones available from the clutch were female, also.

Is this guy in a 12x12x12 terrarium? I just got one and was wondering what I could keep in it for a gecko.

wait, you want to find some sort of gecko to put in that size cage.?
a giant day gecko cannot stay in the 12 cube.
go for a knob tail gecko or house geckos ... smaller type of geckos
 
Both your geckos are awesome. The day gecko is hilarious when it jumps! I was going to get one of these too but the skin tearing thing put me off.
 
Great filming Kent, are you sure that's not a Tokay in disguise? :p. I picked up a little guy (p.mad. grandis) at the last expo and he kept getting out of his enclosure so I just gave up and he hangs out with the baby chameleons and is my 'clean up' man for wayward insects. I named my guy Zippy!
