i went to buy some exo terra heat light clamp bowls the other day and they stopped stockin them and changed them to ones that glow at night, will these work outside a mesh enclosure or will they give off too much glowin light after lights out from a night phase????

From what i have heard, you dont want to put in a heating lamp for night time. The temperature should drop to roomstemperature (If the mesh will be located inside)

is not for the night its for the day, the bowl fitting (not the bulb) glows when you turn them off o it gives you a sort of night light

from what I have read, it is better to have a cage that is devoid of light, as it may cause problems with you chams circadian rhythm. I guess you could try and see what happens over the course of a few days.

i believe the glow will only last for an hr at most becasue it needs to constantly be charged by some sort of light if that is your only resort i dont think it can harm your chameleon

Why pay more for a glowing reflector? Just get the basic ones. Then there isn't any wasted money on cheesy light fixtures that could be spent on feeders or other supplies more important?

i believe that's what they wanted a basic one but nathanuk said they stopped carrying the regular ones

oooh thanks chameleonboy.... just run to Home Depot... they sell clip lamps. As long as your not running like 150+w lamps you should be fine.

thanks chameleonboy, we dont have home depot and they have stoped doin the original, thats why i asked the question.

some people from uk are usin them n say there ok and only glow for a while, but i no your husbandry is far better than most of ours so i thought id ask you guys, plus you seem to get the stuff released over there before us

ive got 1 of them ones that glow and ive had it since i got my cham and it has never bothed her the glow lasts for about 20mins max

Nathan the glow on those dont last it needs the light to be on to charge it and after it charges it and lights go out it will glow for a little i guess 20 min

who knows he might think it is the moon :D

if that is your only resort i guess i will go for it if i were you

well i got them and they only glow for about 20-30mins, and they were only £15 each so there the same price as the original, so thanks for the help guys,

I use those and it seems to do the job. The glow last around 20-30 minutes and seems to allow the cham time to settle for the night

uh, i think you have a toxic tree in ther? the one on the right ...what kind is that?

its an umbrella, schefflera arboricola i think, its slightly toxic so the database on here states but every one else ive asked said there ok
