Gnat Infestation!

Ugh I have a huge gnat problem! I know what to do to get rid of them, but I wanted to vent about it. I have no money to get sand or the plant carpet stuff so for now I am using a hand vacuum to suck them up and release them outside. Everytime I come back inside it seems like there are more. I have vacuumed out probably 40 gnats so far from this morning and this afternoon! I also going to have to replan my drainage situation.

How about co2 bombing the plants? I been looking into options as I found some slugs in my new viv.. and been thinking about how I could use this for plant bug problems in the big guys cages.. anyone tried that??


Co2 canisters are not to expensive and bagging and gassing a plant in a garbage bag of some sort would work too

I have also decided I am adding springtails and isopods to the plant pots.. My cham uses his plants about 99% of the time as a toilet.. they do a good job as a cleanup crew in a viv.. so why not the plant pots


I not sure where you could find them or what they are called, but.. I was watching a documentary on weed growers, (on Netflix) and a "organic" farmer.. LOL.. anyhow he was using some sort of stip near his plants that attract and stuck the buggers.. and gets rid of them pretty well as he stated.. and cycles them out fast..
