Gnats

Well i ordered some of this http://www.planetnatural.com/site/be...nematodes.html

If you care to know how it worked i will update this thread when i know. Thanks for the links Dodolah.

And thanks to everyone else you through out potential solutions. This thread will be a good one for others searching for solutions. There is a lot of options on here to try.

I use h miles mite eating mites to get rid of gnats and mites. They are safe and die off once they have eaten all the gnats and mites in your cage. Many invert keepers use them cause of roach cages getting big explosions of grain mites but they are actually for the gnats they just eat both.

That is real interesting, i have never herd of this. Sounds like it would work great though.

Yah I found it kind of funny that i was able to help someone on this forum considering I am a newbie to the chameleons ;) They do work pretty well though. I have tons of cages with dirt(10,000 or so) and used to have the dirt gnats too ...since using the h miles never have seen a dirt gnat again. Granted I got them to get rid of the grain mites in the roach cages but they got rid of those too of course.

Now if I could figure out how to iradicate the fruit and phorid flies I would be really happy! Problem is I have all bugs so anything that would hurt them might hurt my other bugs.

I have the nematodes but haven't had the time to go put them to use. The directions say to mix the solution with peat moss, then add to the infected plants. I have to get the peat moss. I have been told that peat moss isnt good to have in a cham cage?? so i was thinking i would use the moss for all the house plants but just use the water/nematodes for the cage plants. Not sure yet.

Any other ideas??
