Going Away for Five Days

Hello,

I will be traveling for just under five days. I have a friend coming to check on Irwin, but they aren't entirely comfortable feeding. They've agreed to make sure that the mister is running properly and that the humidity is where it needs to be. Is five days too long to go without food. If I give Irwin extra before the trip, will he be fine?

Suggestions?

If you happen to live in Hawaii (or another similar tropical paradise), I'll take care of your Chameleon FOR FREE... You just have to pay my travel expenses. :p

That's not a bad idea Miss Maisie. On the other hand, would vegetables be enough for him in the interim?

What I did when I went away was set up little deli cups with crickets, pieces of orange and pieces of egg carton over top of each Chameleon's cage. One container of crickets for each chameleon for each day they needed to be fed. The person just had to open the door and dump the food in. Just make sure your reservoir is full of water and know when it needs to be filled again so your can remind them a day ahead.
