Going to the Vet

Whats her cage setup look like? Any chance she's not getting a good tunnel, either that it's not deep or long enough, or that hte soil isn't holding its form? Or maybe plant roots? Clarice digs on an angle and sorta tunnels horizontally until she hits a corner or plant roots. Maybe there's gold in them there hills.

She has a large flower pot that is her lay bin. It is a 11 inches deep and 9 inches in diameter. The tunnel holds -- she does also dig at an angle. She dug almost all the way down, and filled it in. She did dig and hit the side. Last time she layed she did not use her lay bin she used a potted plant.

Maybe she’s looking for roots to lay in? Idk females are odd, last time Imelda dug 3 holes they kept collapsing on her till she went to a corner with roots then she finally laid

I thought about shoving a plant in there -- I have a small rubber tree plant I could put in there. I'm worried about changing it too much though... ugh

I'll put a plant in there tonight after lights out
Rubber tree is "supposedly" bad due to the sap and the fragility of the plant. Apparently the sap is incredibly sticky and difficult to remove. So, just a heads up there.

Theres no plant in my veileds laybin [Vivian]. She has a potted fern and hibiscus, but elected for the bin. It's just a sand and topsoil mix. I'm happy to report, I found a good number of eggs in there when I got home from work. I counted 16 before I gave up. I would've liked to have counted them all but most of my stuff is packed. This is the first time I've seen an infertile veiled egg and it was strange, hehe.

Hope all is well on your front, positive vibes!!

I've be a nervous wreck, female chameleon owners have my sympathy.
You have no idea, I can’t touch Imelda right now. She’s feeling a way when she is gravid 6FADEC40-4B5B-4FF9-AD42-1A8F6E320E6F.jpeg

So -- Mona still has not laid. She consistently has dirt on her face, but I have yet to see any new holes. I added a bromeliad to her lay bin to see if she wanted roots. I am becoming increasingly concerned. She was hanging by her feeder bowl yesterday so I fed her (First time in a week she showed interest) and she gobbled down some Dubia. She is basking -- even saw her drink some water. I am concerned and I feel at a loss -- I also think i might be over worrying after reading how long it took some others in the above posts.

Here is my question -- is NOT laying the sign I should be worried -- it's been 13 days since her first hold, OR should I be concerned when I see other "strange" signs from her.

Coza -- I still haven't had long enough to know "her". Mona however, I got down pat. I feel confident I could identify any significant change in her behavior.

I've never had one that digs that long without laying. It's concerning to me.but I don't know when it's time to say enough is enough....I'm not a vet....as you know. If she starts sitting low in the cage, is lethargic, isn't eating or drinking, sleeps during the day, or if she digs a hole and acts like she laid the eggs and fills the hole back in and then doesn't dig again (called phantom laying) then it's definitely time to get to the vets..but I can't tell you how long to wait if she's still digging. I wish I could tell you more than that.

I have not taken her in yet. Appointments are few and far between but he has been consulting me over the phone.

I know oxytocin works in humans, wasn't sure for scale babies.
The reason I ask about ultrasound is because once the eggs are ready they will be oval and lined up in a row

that’s good they are giving you a heads up
