Good misting system, temperature levels, lighting and misting cycles?

I recently have put together a DIY chameleon terrarium and was wondering about a few things...I plan on getting a misting system and don't mind spending the money on a good one, where can I find the best misting system for a chameleon and does it need to be a DO/RI system or can I just put distilled water in the reservoir? I have read all over the place that the chameleon needs to have different temperature levels throughout the terrarium, what is the best temp. level for the top middle and lower parts of the terrarium? I'd also like an idea on misting cycles and lighting cycles, maybe just a few suggestions on what some of you guys do with your chams?

distilled water is definately sufficient. As for the humidiy and temp levels it will really depend on what kind of cham you are planning on getting as they require different things. Do you know what kind of cham you are getting?

sorry, i dont know much about what a panthers needs are as I have a veiled and I know they are a bit different. i believe around 60% humidity but don't quote me on that. I run a 12 hour light cycle and by the time Carmies lights go off she has found her sleep spot and just waits for the ligts to go off.

I highly recommend the mist king pump & accessories, except one... the mist king "seconds timer" is absolute rubbish. They fail within months (one of mine was broken out of the box!) and MK, while they usually have great customer service, never got back to me about replacing the timers.

So, I opened up the TWO failed timers up and looked inside. The soldering job was TERRIBLE on both! I suspect the crap soldering job had a lot to do with the failures.

Fortunately, I had already replaced the timers with an EcoZone, which has served me extremely well for the past year.

Tony @ EcoZone & Todd @ LightYourReptiles are both fantastic vendors who supply items that meet and exceed your needs/request. They are both passionate people who care about you AND your additional family members (pets)

I have a mist king and it works fine except for the timer which broke on me as well. Replaced it with a timer from target which cost under $10 and it works fine.

As for different temp levels, it should work out fine if you have adequate plants and pathways for the Cham to perch on. 90 at the basking spot and then 75-80s as you go down works fairly well
