Some sort of wound cleaner would be a good start. Where are you located? Do you have a vet lined up? This is definitely something a vet needs to look at.

Yes something to clean the would but don’t use alcohol or H202 or anything Iet me see if I can find a chameleon antibiotic ointment

With it close to the mouth, you need to be careful that what you use won't poison the chameleon if it gets ingested. It would really be best to see a vet. You said you can't get to one...where do you live?

I'm not a vet and with it being close to the mouth, I don't want to give you medication info in case I'm wrong...and what I would suggest you need a vet to give you a script for anyway.

Or maybe put it on a cotton swab so there’s not as much excess that can drop into the mouth?
