Grabbing onto himself...

My guy is about 5 months old and I saw today that he was grabbing his own legs a couple of times. I know this could be a sign of MBD.
I use:
ZooMed - Repti Calc W/o d3 every feeding.
ZooMed - Repti Calc with d3 2 a month.
rep cal herptivite 2 a month.
Could it be over suppliment?
Am I over reacting?
I'm just another over pretective owner, thought I was over it. But it seems that i'm not.

Any help is welcome.
Thank you!

It happens every now and then, if it was a one time incident I wouldn't freak out but I would monitor them a little more closely to see how often it happens.

Im at work atm, but I will try snap a good pic when I get home.
Just came to think of , could it be that he dont havet enough space to move around in lets say his umbrellla plant? So I have to cut it down alittle? Could that be an reason?
Wrote this from my phone, sry about the grammar.

Sadly, historically, grabbing oneself is an indicator of MBD, as you know.

It's an EARLY indicator. That you are noticing it now means your chameleon might never experience any of the deformities that are the hallmark of MBD.

So, let's see what can be done to improve your situation so you don't face a chameleon who's broken.

Chameleon Info:
Your Chameleon - Panther,Diego Suarez, Male, About 5-6 month. about 4 month.
Handling - 1 time a week, max 2.
Feeding - Crickets,flies(rare), about 20-25 each day,2 times a day, about 6 hours apart, Carrots,lettuce,water.
Supplements - ZooMed -Rep Calc w/o d3 every feeding, ZooMed - Rep Calc with d3 two times a month(about 5 days apart), Reptivit two times a month(about 15 days apart)
Watering - I mist his cage with a bottle sprayer, 2-3 times a day. See him drinking daily.
Fecal Description - Never been tested for parasites. The fecal look all normal, white and black.
History - He's been acting all normal until yesterday.

Cage Info:
Cage Type - Screen cage(ZooMed), 24x24x48
Lighting - ZooMed UVB 5.0, Casual heat lamp. 12 hours a day.
Temperature - Temp range 22-29C, lowest temp at night is about 20C. I'm keeping control of the temp all the time.
Humidity - Using a hygrometer. about 65-75% before misting. I keep this by misting and he got loads of plants.
Plants - All live plants, two umbrella plants( one bigger one smaller ) and one pohtos.
Placement - The cage stands on the floor in my room, not alot of ppl in there, almost only me. It's far away from any windows of fans.
Location - I live in the very south part of Sweden.
Current Problem - Saw him grabbing his own leg a couple of times.

The only thing you could really improve is the gutloading of the insects, and get a bit more variety in there. Lettuce is basically just water - Rocket (Aragula) or Dandelion have much more calcium.
Different feeder insects are good for fun as well as nutrients, silkworms have lots of calcium.......

Also, it might be nothing to worry about at all, he might just have had a clumsy day, or be warming up :)
Lol Chuck :D

I will watch him today and see how he does. Just give me all advice you got :) keep leaving comments , you learn something new everyday :)

If it was a one time thing, its ok.

All my chams have accidently grabbed themselves a time or two. as long as its not repeated, he wil be fine.

though as stated, you can improve your gutloading.

As others have said, if it's a one time thing, it's not a problem, but if you are noticing it happening daily or repeatedly during the day, it's a problem.

About the only things I can suggest trying are getting a new UVB bulb. They start to drop off after 3 months, though you should be able to use them for 6....you're sort of on the fence there so why not make the change now and see if that helps? That and, if possible, see if you can get him some very well supervised, or caged outside time. Natural sunlight is the best thing you can give him.

Thanks for all the heads up. As I stated before, could it be that he dont got enough space when he's turning around 180? Cause when I watched him yesterday he was climbing perfectly only noticed it happen when he was in crowded spaces(so to speak).

If its only happeneing when hes turning around, and he doesnt seem to confused his body with a branch, its probably because hes in asmall area.
