Congratulations! I'm glad there were multiple successes hatching out the green bird grass hoppers I sent you guys. In the past it has not worked out.

They're not in season yet.

The group of giant American Bird Hoppers (Schistocera), there are many species and the best way/only way is to go hunting for them. For the most part there is at least one species that you can find across all of the lower 48 states. Wild colonies can be very tough to find and when you do over collecting can have negative effect on wild colonies.

Thanks everybody!

Yes, I did'nt think I was going to hatch any out. But I'm slowly learning.
That's great. I wish I could find some adult as I'd like to give it a go. We went looking today with no luck.
I'll have to share some with you. I fed off all my adults before going on vacation to the parsons. So will have to build up stock again. I did find some other things in the garden today.

I should have a bumper crop of kaytdids, cabbage white worms, and hoppers this year.

That sounds fun I love grasshoppers... I would pay for some adults to breed /: Though I guess I'll just wait for season and go hunting out in the country 0.0

It is not fun! After work going through large areas of bramble with an abundance of snakes etc..for 2-3 hours in 100 F weather to catch 12-30 giant grasshopper gets old quick.
