Grasshoppers

I catch tons of hoppers down here. Nice vid Steve, any particular reason you didnt let her shoot her tongue out at it? Just out of curiousity.
Yes, She's a little far sighted. She's great at catching prey at a foot or more away, but her aim is a little poor when the insect is up close. She's in her indoors cage for the winter, so a little confined.

Grasshoppers are herbivores and only eat plants. Not omnivorous like crickets and roaches. So you'll have to dust the pollen on if used. I'm lucky enough to have lots of green space and wilderness in my area, so hopper are fed straight from the fields. The hills are good and green right now, so I let mother nature do her thing.

Makes me think what else these guys can eat?

Any1 else got some interesting feeders that i could possibly try here in South Africa?

I probably have every type of bug known to man over here lol jks XD

another member from S. Africa said that from time to time they used winged termites as a feeder.
