Disclaimer: These were collected in a local, pesticide free field, spikey legs were removed prior to feeding. Whenever feeding chameleons wild insects be sure that they are pesticide free and you know where they come from.

Oh oops. :p My bad, i must have skipped over that thinking it was part of your signature. Thats really cool, in one picture the grasshopper looks sorta red. The grasshopper up here in Wisconsin are really green and brown, i think maybe a little bigger too. Very nice pics though.

Thats ok :)

The green and pink one is a nymph of the big ones being eaten by my Oustaleti. They are known as the American bird grasshopper (Schistocerca americana).

Now that I am not living in Maryland out in the middle of nowhere I need to find a nice field to catch some bugs in. Probably just head to my moms friend in Ohio since they own a lot of land.

The uthie is looking great!!!! How do you like him?

He's doing great, and he's awesome. He loves to hoppers too!

:D Catching bugs is fun especially if you have a young child to share it with. They light up "almost" as much as you do when you find one. Can't wait for the hoppers to come out here.

lucky you, I havent found a safe place, none protected place to catch grasshoppers.

In Coral Springs we have to have a certain amount of natural parks in the city, so I just went to the closest one by my house and caught a bunch. I almost don't even have to use a net there are so many.

Two weeks ago i caught some of the pink & green nymphs like in the pics. No big full grown adults yet. But my 5 month male cant eat any that big yet anyway. :D

Almost didn't want to feed off that pink/green one.....almost.;) As you can see we have the nymphs and adults out down here.

I wish i could find some katydids. Ive only caught one so far this year. My cham almost ran when he saw it. lol Ive never seen him grub on anything that fast before.
