Gravid Green Tree Python!(?)

SHE LAID! I recorded these images around 9-10pm last night. So far I think I'm going to let her incubate them and see how that goes. So far she has them wrapped up in a tight "beehive" coil. What a good momma!

What a pretty snake, My friend recently got a male for her 3 year old female GTP i don't know exactly what type but I cant wait to take pictures! especially when she breeds them! Good luck and best wishes for your first GTP clutch!

Congrats on the laying!!!! ARe you going to let her incubate them the whole process or are you gonna pull them out eventually?

Please let me know when they hatch if you have any you decide to sell, Id love to pick one up

So I went with maternal incubation for about 17 days before discovering two rotting eggs on top of the pile. In removing them I had to remove the female and then set them up to go the rest of the distance in an incubator. First I set them up in vermiculite but was advised against keeping it long-term and so then went to the substrateless method. On night 52 I cut this one open and found a live, yellow baby inside. He's still in there absorbing yolk but hopefully I'll have some babies crawling around real soon!

Congratulations. I am big time into GTP's, my #1 favorite snake! Glad to see another chameleon keeper likes GTP's. My biak is certainly nothing to mess with. It is extrememly bitey and if I don't use tongs while cleaning and feeding I would get a nasty bite. I need to sex it, but I don't feel comfortable doing the probing, so I need an expert. Also, if you decide to part with some of the offspring I'd love to have another. ;)

Very nice man... guess they have been keeping u on edge this last week. Cant wait to see some pictures of the babies. GTP's are such a phenomenal snake

Oh my gosh! I can't BELIEVE I didn't update this thread! :( I got so carried away I must have only updated the thread I had going on the GTP forum.

I had 8 babies hatch out of the clutch and all look great! They are all extremely docile which has made getting them started eating a somewhat trying experience. 5 have eaten so far. The first one to eat has it all figured out now. He's on his 4th meal and can swallow a pinky down in just 3 minutes or so!

I love it, Kent! I love those little guys and am amazed by them every time I see them (GTP's in general...). Congratulations!

(BTW......my new(er) female argus is showing lots of "girth" around her midsection. Shouldn't be long before I have some "little" eggies myself.....:D)

Yep! But I've been planning for it for the last couple of years. I kept telling Anubis that he would be a proud daddy one of these days. ;) I'm positive that Gretyl will lay her eggs while I'm in Daytona. (I'm not kidding) She has gotten huge and despite normally being a chow hound, she was a little uninterested in her mice yesterday, so we'll see.

(hoping to bring home a pair of CB green or blue tree monitors from Daytona, too.........I need to have something to fill Anubis' old cage with. HA!!)

Hope you get blues! There's a A+++ blue tree monitor for sale a few miles from me. When I first saw him I had to run home and look for pics on the net of the species and very few had the vibrant blue this one does. I've always loved the greens but a nice blue tree is take-your-breath-away stunning! Megan says she'll kill me if I bring him home....

Yeah, I've only seen a couple really nice blue ones. The rest are pretty dull. Can I ask who has that one that you are talking about? You know, just in case....:D I'm sure Megan has told you that many times before and something tells me you've pushed that envelope before too. ;)
