Gravid Veiled?

It was mentioned in my last thread that my veiled my be gravid. So i put her in a bucket filled with sand, moved her lights, temp gauge, and screen top to caver the lid. O theres a stick in there too. the temp is about 72-74is. I put her in there for little over 4 hours and she just freaked out trying to get out, then sat on the stick looking terrfied. Her belly not as big as pics of other gravid females but she does sort of have that distended curve, and shes gotten chubby. shes roughly 6-10 months. I feel bad for her by putting her in there bc she doesnt like it and she makes me feel like im not taking good care of her then, hwever I dont want her to get sick and eventually die. Help would be great!! I can post a couple pics of her in a bit, or you can look at my previous post "problems with very 1st cham" thank you soo much!!!

if she is ready to lay just leave her in there.
shes not as freaked as you might think.
and some females will freak out for several hours till they realize they have to lay, and then they get down to business.

now it is possible she doesnt need to lay yet.
ANy chance you can get a laying bucket in her cage?

I cant put anything that big in her cage yet. Waiting for her new one to arrive. I will post my set up! O Camimom--I got the Repashy supp you reccomended-- It smells soo good!! lol

Well when you get her new cage, just put a bucket in it for laying.

and haha yea t eally does, i find that my 'kids' love the repashy alot more than the other stuff.
before Kink would balk at eating dusted bugs, now he couldnt care less. (esp if ive dusted a hornworm)

yep, before she would just eye the crickets if they were around, but i set them near her and she attacked them! er, well-- ate them fast. And how long should I leave her in the bucket today, providing my cage doesnt come today... it should though

The signs that she is ready to lay are "egg lumps" over her back thighs (really noticeable) and she will go down to the bottom of her cage wandering around looking for a good place to dig. If she hasn't done that yet then she probably isn't ready. I don't like to stress my ladies by putting them in a big bucket thinking they are ready when they aren't. I use a bathroom trash can filled with damp sand placed in their cage rather then using a big 5 gallon bucket. They all have used the trash can and I have had many clutches from many females. Works very well. They know what to do when it is time.

as long as she gets misted...
all day is fine.
it can take them all day to dig, fill it in, dig again, and then lay.. or dig and dig and dig.

or ignore everyting get pissy, then dig 20 minutes before lights go out.
some females have dug through the night.

Well yes-- she os in a bathroom garbage can, its just quicler to typr bucket. Shes been in there bout 6 hours, when I got home to mist her she was moving around on the bottom but i didnt want to look at her bc Id heve to peek over the top and i dont want her to see me.. but ive misted her now, then the temp is about 65ish. thats probably to low but ive got a 40 watt and i dont want to have to set it on top of the screen covering the can so she doesnt have a spot to get out of the heat.

it seems like when I wake up in the morning, the ground has been disturbed and pilled.
