Issues: Two concerns, one the gray coloring on his head. It's almost a light purple color. He did a full body shed 5 weeks ago and maybe a partial one since then but I can't remember for sure. Was wondering if maybe it's related to shedding? His casque and face have had this color for about two weeks now and no other signs of shedding. Before that the top of his casque and above his eyes got pretty dark.

Second concern: I recently upped the wattage of his basking light from 60 to 75, as he was often climbing the screen under the basking light and I thought he may need more heat. Basking temps are up from 85 to usually 89-90 at the hottest point now. He doesn't seem to be trying to get closer to the heat now but he seems lethargic when basking now, laying against nearby sticks and leaves for support, hes holding onto his branches but also sort of leaning against other things.

Many veileds get a paler grayer head as they age. Looks OK to me.

A question: I didn't see a multivitamin supplement in your list. They need dusting with a herp multivitamin once every 2 weeks or so.

Leaning to one side while basking is normal. Is he flattening himself while basking or does the side facing the heat turn darker? These are all ways he's absorbing heat a bit faster. Changing his body shape exposes more of his internal organs to the warmth. Be careful and measure the temp at his basking perch...it is safer to err on the cooler side to prevent a skin burn. He just may bask a bit longer under the cooler bulb. Chams don't have that many heat sensors in their skin, and the way we provide basking heat (a more intense focused beam) can result in a thermal burn. They are trying to warm up their organs...and their skin overheats sooner than the organs do.

Color looks good, mine is near the same age. My wife says sometimes his head looks light pink and she likes it. They are at the stage of life when their colors will really start changing.

Mine is the same age and his head is the same color. He just shed, but his head appears as though he hasn't. I have seen the shed skin come off his head, so I am not too worried .
