Greetings from Indiana!

Treecko

New Member
Good day all!

I just got the new addition to my home and he is a Veild Chameleon named Treecko.

Now this is my first time having a reptile as a pet so I will be here often to make sure I'm doing things correctly.

Now, I want to go into how I came about getting one... It wasn't my decision to get one. My 4 year old son wanted one so badly and I said we can get one if he had enough money for it. I knew perfectly well that I would be the one caring for it and I was ok with it... ANYWAYS, I knew a guy who was selling Veild Chams for $20. I figured I would have to chip in a couple bucks for my son but he whips out $60 worth of change... Totally caught me off guard! So, we go and get heat lamp and a UVB bulb, a couple Pothos and such for the living area for the Cham.

I'm stoked about having one and I want to thank everyone here in advance because I know I am going to have questions later...

Congratulation to you and your son's first veiled chameleon and welcome to the chameleon lounge....Yup....yup.

Well, congratulations for having such an industrious young son. Encourage that and someday, you may be able to retire to a beach :D

And welcome to the forums! We have really great people and ton of resources.

This link has all the basics. Do a ton of reading and don't hesitate to ask questions on anything that is unclear. If you haven't already, read up now on gutloading, supplements, and sexing your veiled. These things will be critical to the long term health of your cham.

Unfortunately, our assistance here at the forums is not free. We demand compensation in the form of photos of your new friend! :D

Hi, welcome to the forums. Good to see a fellow hoosier on here. You have come to a great community.

I have a chameleon named Treecko too! Be prepared for everyone to mispronounce and misspell his name.

Well, the Mrs. Liked the guy so much that she made me go out and get a second one. XD Treecko is on the right and on the left is Ziggy. He mostly stays a pastel orange color. Both are roughly 4 months old.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on two new chameleons. I keep veileds and they are totally awesome chameleons with so much personality. Not sure if you know but Chameleons are solitary animals and have to be kept in separate enclosures and out of each others sight. I am enclosing my blog that I used to pass on to all new keepers that got a baby from me. Hopefully it will help you to keep your little ones healthy and happy. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blo...-keepers-young-veiled-panther-chameleons.html
