Arlo has been with us for a few weeks now and we seem to be getting more comfortable with each other. Tomorrow will mark 5 months since he hatched. He was an Amos and Fiona baby (thanks Jann). I just bought a scale yesterday to make sure he’s making good progress.
I just finished feeding him before I put him in the scale. He weighs 47 grams!
He loves his crickets and is very eager about eating silkworms. He used to eat superworms too but had stopped eating them in favor of the silkworms. He is very aggressive toward anyone who puts their hand in his cage but once he’s out, he’s great. I’ve been working on positive association by leaving his door open when I enter the room and feeding by hand. I wait for him to come out onto his door when he’s ready so he doesn’t get so dark and puffy at the appearance of my hand. Once he’s out on his door, he usually will just climb up on my hand. I have a few plants for him to hang out in but the hibiscus is his favorite.
Just wanted to share an update and some pictures.
