I live farther north. I don't use a light at night. Temperature outside doesn't affect the temperature inside because I have central heat and air. So it stays consistent in the house. I've seen many of your posts. You claim you want to do the right things......
I don't know though. We tell you no light and you find a convoluted reason to need it.

I did and didn't you hear all the reasons why the diagnosis was incorrect? No x-rays, no blood work. The opinion of the vet on here?

look at your chams front leg, then look at your arm...
You can't deny there's something wrong with your cham's leg! It should not have 2 elbows.
They will use broken limbs and they will try to not show their weakness because of their survival instincts, this doesn't mean he isn't in a lot of pain.
You need to get over the vet making a bad call, take some responsibility for your pet, get him to an other vet and get him the treatment he needs!

I don't need to be a vet to see that there's something wrong with your chameleon and besides, would it have mattered if I were a vet?
The vet on this forum, that is specialized in chameleons, gave you free advise in one of your previous topics and you chose to do nothing with it...
So even if I were a vet you're not going to take advise because you don't want to spend more money on a vet visit and rather have your chameleon die a slow and painful death instead...
Like others concluded before, you've got the answer you needed from your vet (if you even went) and you're sticking with that until your chameleon dies...

What really matters to your cham are the temps IN THE ROOM where the cage is. If the nighttime temp doesn't drop lower than 50 F IN THE ROOM, you do NOT need cage heat at night. The light will keep your cham from resting well which is probably another reason he's unhappy and miserable. The temp in his cage should be allowed to drop at least 10 degrees lower than the temp during the day.

You should really Google MBD your Cham obviously has it I'm not trying to beat u up but I feel terrible about your cham and if y'all can't afford the proper care I would happily take it off your hands and give it the life it deserves I'm only one state over and to say a vet told you your cham does not have mbd is a LIE there is no need for a red light with your cham EVER especially at night
@XxSepiorxX , this forum is a place where all are welcome when they follow the rules. Having said that, there have been some questionable posts by others in threads of yours that have received some warnings or been deleted completely. I am one of the many who has disagreed with you and your vet and do not want you to think that your chameleon is cured of MBD because of their diagnosis, but I will not respond to that anymore. I have my opinion and have stated it and you can take the information and use it if you wish. As for others posting in response to your threads or comments, please do not tell members to go elsewhere just because you do not like what they say. Again, this is an open forum and if the rules are not broken they have every right to post here. I will continue to monitor the posts of the forums as the other moderators do and take action if needed, but if I see good advice is given I will not take any action.
I truly wish you and your chameleon the best, but I also wish you would start researching the advice you are given to see if there are other answers that would support the ones you get. If you search the forums you will find thousands of posts (OK, I didn't actually count) that tell about the harm that using the red night bulbs will do to chameleons. If you search the forums you will see that the information about nighttime temps will continually show that veileds can be fine with temps down into the 50's and even 40's and be fine as long as they have a good basking site available the next morning.
Even if you don't wan't to take advice from certain members here, and I can't say that I would want to with the way you have been treated here, if the actual advice is sound and productive, just pretend it came from someone else. Or, if you see someone here that you respect and trust their opinion, send them a PM to ask what they think. I don't know any active members that would not offer you the best advice they know to help you with your chameleon.
As for everyone else who is possibly reading this, I hope the negative comments will stop. Please do not hesitate to answer with the information you wish to share, but do not make it personal. Just try to help. If you get frustrated, just remember that others are reading these threads as research and I for one don't think this is the best representation of our great forums. Do not act like immature children and start engaging in name calling and insults. It should not be accepted and will not be.

@Replife, not being rude or anything, but one reply on another one of my threads you mentioned something about getting rid of ny chameleon. Just because you live one state over doesn't really mean you can have my chameleon. Just because I have a different care technique does not mean you have to be a smart allic about it. I find that offensive because of how you said "Give it the life it deserves" and "I can't afford the proper care". I can afford it but it's actually not time to go the vet yet for me. When you said my vet's answer about MBD is a LIE, I find that rude to my vet because you went against what he said without including any information. Please, don't take this comment seriously. I was just telling you about basically what you just said.
