please excuse my ignorance in this area. my cham doesn't seem to be eating much, hasn't since i got him. at any rate i am thinking of trying the superworms and see if he likes those.
do you have to gut load these? i so how do i store them just like i do the crickets?

also i am cup feeding in a plastic 16oz( i think) size cup. will the worms climb out of this?
thanks for any advise in this area you can share.

I gutload my supers every time with greens. You should gutload anything you feed to your cham. As far as them getting out of the cup, they should be fine in there. When you do free range superworms they will crawl on the screen likes crickets.

when i get my superworms they come in a lil tupperware container that has some kind of mix in it that looks like wood saw dust

i take some greans and shred them, put them in and then sprinkle cricket feed powder on it

I gutload and store my superworms in a container with dry rice babyfood (gerber's cereal). I mix in some bran cereal flakes/sticks. Then I give them either sweet potato or carrots for hydration.

I use the bedding from cricketfood.com

For hydration, carrots are probably my favorite because theyre easy to feed and dont mold fast like a lot of fruits will. The advantage to feeding leafy greens though is increased calcium gutload which most fruits and vegs dont have.

[BUMP] how often do you have to change the superworms food and clean their bin? i've been using my dry gutload (kelp powder, spirulina, very small amount of cricket feed provided by (CanadianFeeders.com), i also have repashy CGD, and bee pollen. i give them this and some chopped up dandelion, red lettuce and carrot. is this ok? it tends to be very messy and seems like i have to clean it everyday. is there a simpler solution?

I try to keep it simple depending on the feeder. With the crickets, I tend to give the mix. They have to be cleaned out daily anyway since they are fairly dirty. So, greens and fruit are a good gut load

The mealworms and superworms, I just give the bran/rice baby food and something like carrot or sweet potato. If not wet when put in the substrate, it tends not to mold but just dry up. I change the carrot and sweet potato every few days. I try not to use any veggies or fruit that molds the substrate because that is where the babies are hiding. I rotate the beetles into a new container so they lay the eggs and the substrate stays fairly clean.
