i think it has todo with the absorbtion of d3 and not able to absorb calcium like they should....and tomatoes , spinache, and brocolli should b avoided.....as i from what researched on the forums...
Tomatoes are high in oxalates and shouldn't be a staple for gutloading but as far as I know they aren't toxic. Hornworms that have ingested the leaves of tomato plants are toxic to chams so maybe it's just the leaves. I dont think tomatoes are a good gutload. Do a search on here for gutloading and you will see all the good ones to use. And maybe some cricket crack!
