Habba Mister died - help?

Hello all. I just got a habba mister 2 weeks ago to hold me over until I can get a mistking system with all the goodies that go with it. I do not use the habba mister as my only source of hydration as I have a drip system and I also mist manually but it is an adequate means of keeping the humidity up.

This AM it decided to break. All the lights are on (green and red) and everything is just as it should be but the motor doesn't start. Has anyone had an issue like this before?

I have one also but its still in the box for this very reason lol I hear the motor dies on you if you let it run while the reservoir is dry.

That's the thing - reservoir is never dry. Actually, it was still 3/4 full when I went to fill it this am. Usually almost out of water but never completely dry. :(

RETURN YOURS! lol

If you bought it locally see if you can exchange it for a new one and if you can't do that call Zoo Med and explain what happened and they should send you out a replacement one. When I have had any problems with any of my Zoo Med products thats what I do and they are very good at quickly sending me a replacement.

Thank you! I bought it through Amazon so I will call Zoo right now.

However I need to figure out something for tomorrow and the weekend. I am going on vacation and although I will have someone taking care of Rango, it is just not enough. Anyone know of anywhere I can get a mistking in Miami, Pronto?? lolol

Another option you could try is see if one of the pet stores by you carry the Exo-Terra Monsoon RS400 misting system.

If you were thinking of a mistking I wouldn't go with monsoon unless you can afford both. Monsoon IMO is just as reliable as habbamister. Having said that I keep my monsoon as a spare. It works but timer doesn't do what I want it to.

I have to agree with other members, don't drop the money on that turd lol. Just like the Habba Mister it has a ton of problems after awhile. Just drop the money on a good misting system like the Mistking or Aquazamp. It will be well worth every single penny.

ZooMed

I actually just called them today regarding my Habba Mist. Which leaks everywhere.... I spoke to Jennifer and she was very nice. It is my temporary misted till mistking is more in my budget also....

Unfortunately I am going on a weekend trip and I needed a replacement badly. Although I will have someone checking in on Rango, I still needed an additional water supply. My plan is to use the monsoon now and get the mistking next week then return it. I checked at the store - they will accept a return and give full refund for any reason I am not satisfied. They had the habba but the monsoon can hold MUCH more water. Thank you ALL for your suggestions.

I will check out Aquazamp before getting into a mistking though - never heard of it.

The monsoon is a nice looking piece of kit. It is the timer thats dodgy. You might get a good one. Anyway you have time to test it. Enjoy your trip.

I personally have been researching a lot of different systems and think ultimately I am going to go with aquazamp instead of mistking. From what I read and here from users is that aquazamp is just a sturdier piece of equipment and has quality parts versus the mistking
